Attendance Wavier

All persons attending this event are bound by the waiver found by clicking here.  There is no need to sign this waiver; your attendance at this event is your agreement to the terms in this waiver.

Statement

Any person attending the event, including but not limited to players, coaches, spectators and working staff, who has been tested for any infectious disease and been found to be “positive” may not attend this event.   A person who has been tested for an infectious disease but has not yet been received the results from that test is not permitted to attend the event.

If a person in attendance at the event has a test during the event and is found to be positive,  the Northern Lights Qualifier will follow the MN State guidelines which are in effect at that time concerning contacts and continued participation of affected people attending the event.


WHO:

Girls 12’s, 13’s, 14’s, 15’s, 16’s, 17’s 18’s

Boys 18’s

Canadian teams are also welcome to attend this event.

WHEN:

Saturday May 29: All teams will play on either a morning wave or an afternoon wave.

Sunday May 30: All teams will play on either a morning wave or an afternoon wave.

Monday May 31: Bracket day. The last matches of the tournament are scheduled to end at 4pm.

The boys event is a 2-day event and will take place Saturday and Sunday only.

FORMAT:

Pool play on Saturday & Sunday followed by bracket play on Monday.

7 match minimum.

Boys division will be 6 matches minimum over 2 days.

LOCATION:

OFFICIALS:

The tournament will supply Certified “up” officials for all courts.

COLLEGES:

This tournament will be running the University Athlete software for the college coaches recruiting players.  College coaches will be permitted to attend even if no other spectators are permitted.

REGISTRATION:

Registration for this event will open on October 15, 2020 at 9:00 am Central Time.
Teams of all affiliations (JVA, USAV, AAU) are welcome to participate in this tournament.
The entry fee for this event is $545 (JVA-insured teams) or $565 (teams not JVA-insured).

To receive the JVA discount:

  1. Register your team.
  2. E-mail the Northern Lights office your team name, event you are entering, and that you are JVA-insured and want the discount.
  3. Northern Lights will verify your JVA status, adjust your entry fee and respond to your e-mail.
  4. Pay your fee for the event.

Do not pay the full price then ask for the discount.

Deadline for entry is April 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm or earlier if capacity is reached.

HOTELS:

Teams are free to book hotels wherever they want for the 2021 Stars & Stripes Classic.  However, at this point in time, we do not know which sites each age division will be playing at and that information will not be available until after May 23.

The preliminary wave schedule is as follows.  Starting times are not final until the actual schedule goes live.  Do not make travel reservations based on the times below; always assume you may be starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday.

We will attempt to publish the entire schedule on Monday May 24th, but it could be as late as Wednesday evening May 26th.

Team Check-In Location & Times

Online Check-In

All teams must use Online Check-In.

Online check-in can be done from your home/office/mobile device.

Online Check-In will begin Thursday morning before the tournament at 8:00 am and must be completed by Friday at 12:00 pm.

To check-in online, log into your www.TM2sign.com account, scroll down to the Stars & Stripes Classic event, find the team you wish to check-in and click on the purple button that says “Check In Online”.  This purple button will only show up after Online Check-In begins.

Upon completion of the online check-in process, you will receive an e-mail with a QR code for each team. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address on file with the tournament for your team/club.  Please be sure your www.TM2sign.com club account is updated with the correct contact information before checking in.

The QR code for each team must be sent to one of the team coaches for wristband pick-up.  Wrist-band pick up will be at the site the team is scheduled to play on Saturday.  More information on this will be sent to each team about a week before the tournament.

The QR code can be on your phone screen or printed out.

Warm-Up Balls

Warm-up balls will be provided at all three sites.  Do not bring any warm-up balls with you.

Practice times

Practice times will be unavailable this year.

Athletic Trainers

Athletic Trainers provided by Allina Health Orthopedics (formerly Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists) will be on duty starting 30 minutes prior to the first match at the Midwest Volleyball site only.

Coolers & Portable Chairs

Coolers, bags of food, etc, are not permitted anywhere inside the buildings. This means you cannot bring coolers, bags of food, etc into any part of the building including the lobbies.

No portable chairs are allowed at any of the facilities. Please do not bring them, the security guards will not allow them inside. If spectators are permitted, seating will be available.

Tournament Admission

Currently, due to COVID-19 restrictions on facility capacity and distancing requirements in place by the Governor of Minnesota, spectators are not allowed.  This is still true as of 03/28/2021.

Live Streaming

Live streaming of the courts will be made available at all sites.  More information on this will be sent to the teams the week before the event and will also be shown on the TM2sign tournament schedule page.
