Northern Lights & Milwaukee Sting
May 29-31, 2021

Minneapolis Convention Center (Girls 15’s – 18’s)
This event will be held in the Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Center in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin (11’s – 14’s) and the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota (15’s – 18’s).

All persons attending this event are bound by the waiver found by clicking here. There is no need to sign this waiver; your attendance at this event is your agreement to the terms in this waiver.
Any person attending the event, including but not limited to players, coaches, spectators and working staff, who has been tested for any infectious disease and been found to be “positive” may not attend this event. A person who has been tested for an infectious disease but has not yet been received the results from that test is not permitted to attend the event.
If a person in attendance at the event has a test during the event and is found to be positive, the Northern Lights Qualifier will follow the MN State guidelines which are in effect at that time concerning contacts and continued participation of affected people attending the event.
Girls 15’s, 16’s, 17’s 18’s
Canadian teams are also welcome to attend this event.
Saturday May 29: All teams will play on either a morning wave or an afternoon wave.
Sunday May 30: All teams will play on either a morning wave or an afternoon wave.
Monday May 31: Bracket day. The last matches of the tournament are scheduled to end at 4pm.
Pool play on Saturday & Sunday followed by bracket play on Monday.
7 match minimum.
The tournament will supply Certified “up” officials for all courts.
This tournament will be running the University Athlete software for the college coaches recruiting players.

Registration for this event will open on October 15, 2020 at 9:00 am Central Time.
Teams of all affiliations (JVA, USAV, AAU) are welcome to participate in this tournament.
The entry fee for this event is $695 (JVA-insured teams) or $715 (teams not JVA-insured).
To receive the JVA discount:
- Register your team.
- E-mail the Northern Lights office your team name, event you are entering, and that you are JVA-insured and want the discount.
- Northern Lights will verify your JVA status, adjust your entry fee and respond to your e-mail.
- Pay your fee for the event.
Do not pay the full price then ask for the discount.
Deadline for entry is April 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm or earlier if capacity is reached.

Hotels for the Stars & Stripes Classic will be made available through the THS Company. THS offers teams the guaranteed lowest hotel rates in the Downtown Minneapolis area.
Teams must be registered and paid for the tournament before hotels can be booked through THS.

New this year: Hotel reservations can only be booked online. THS will have Customer Support Specialists available in their Call Center (908-979-0928) to provide support and answer any housing questions that you may have, but please note that the agents will not be able to book your rooms over the phone.

The preliminary wave schedule is as follows. Starting times are not final until the actual schedule goes live. Do not make travel reservations based on the times below; always assume you may be starting at 8:00 AM on Saturday.

We will attempt to publish the entire schedule on Monday May 24th, but it could be as late as Wednesday evening May 26th.
Team Check-In Location & Times
Online check-in can be done from your home/office/mobile device.
Online Check-In will begin Thursday morning before the tournament at 8:00 am. To check-in online, log into your www.TM2sign.com account, scroll down to the Stars & Stripes Classic event, find the team you wish to check-in and click on the purple button that says “Check In Online”. This purple button will only show up after Online Check-In begins.
Upon completion of the online check-in process, you will receive an e-mail with a QR code for the team. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address on file with the tournament for your team/club. Please be sure your www.TM2sign.com club account is updated with the correct contact information before checking in.
This QR code must be brought to the Championship Desk (or other designated area) in the Minneapolis Convention Center and presented to the Northern Lights staff for wristband pick-up. The QR code can be on your phone screen or printed out. Wristband pick-up must be completed on Friday between 3:00 pm and 8:30 pm.
Wristband pick-up can be done by anyone in possession of the team’s QR code. If a club director or a coach is not available to pick-up the team’s wristbands on Friday evening, the QR code can be e-mailed or texted to anyone else you would trust to represent the team.
WRISTBAND PICK-UP MUST STILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY EVENING EVEN IF A TEAM HAS CHECKED IN ONLINE. THERE IS NO SATURDAY CHECK-IN OR WRISTBAND PICK-UP.
In-Person check-in will only be on Friday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. It will take place at the Championship Desk (or other designated area) in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
If you are not checking in online, you must bring a copy of your QR-coded roster printed out from www.TM2sign.com.
THERE IS NO TEAM CHECK-IN OR WRISTBAND PICK-UP ON FRIDAY.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer able to supply a set of warm-up balls on each court. Each team should plan to bring their own set of warm-up balls.
The tournament will have a very limited number of extra warm-up balls which maybe checked out by a team for the duration of the event. These warm-up balls are limited and on a first-come/first-served availability.
We will allow teams to practice on the Convention Center courts between 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Practices will be allowed for one hour per team. All practices must be completed by 8:00pm.
Athletic Trainers provided by Allina Health Orthopedics (formerly Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists) will be on duty at the Convention Center starting 45 minutes prior to the first match. The AT’s will tape you free of charge if you supply the tape. If they supply the tape it will cost you $2.00 a roll. The athletic training staff will be located in the lobby.
Coolers & Portable Chairs
The Minneapolis Convention Center has a no cooler or outside food policy. They will not allow coolers, bags of food, etc, anywhere inside the building. This means you cannot bring coolers, bags of food, etc into any part of the building including the lobbies. This is a Convention Center Policy, not a Northern Lights Policy.
No portable chairs are allowed in the Minneapolis Convention Center. Please do not bring them, the security guards will not allow them inside. There are chairs at all courts for spectators.
In order to keep the team entry fee low, the Stars & Stripes Classic is charging an admission for spectators at the Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased at the Convention Center.
