Attendance Wavier

All persons attending this event are bound by the waiver found by clicking here.  There is no need to sign this waiver; your attendance at this event is your agreement to the terms in this waiver.

Any person attending the event, including but not limited to players, coaches, spectators and working staff, who has been tested for any infectious disease and been found to be “positive” may not attend this event.   A person who has been tested for an infectious disease but has not yet been received the results from that test is not permitted to attend the event.

If a person in attendance at the event has a test during the event and is found to be positive,  the Northern Lights Qualifier will follow the NE & MN State guidelines which are in effect at that time concerning contacts and continued participation of affected people attending the event.

General Information

The Mizuno Northern Lights Qualifier will take place over three weekends in 2021.  Matches will take place in the CHI Health Center (January event) or the Minneapolis Convention Center (May event).

  • January 29 – 31, 2021 (17’s – 18’s)
  • May 7 – 9, 2021 (11’s – 14’s)
  • May 14 – 16, 2021 (15’s – 16’s & 17’s – 18’s non-qualifying)

Play begins the first day at 8:00 am.  Most teams conclude play by 4:00 pm on the final day.

All college coaches who are not under recruiting rule restrictions may attend the event.

There are usually two methods for college coaches to enter the venue to watch athletes and teams.

  1. Enter and pay as an adult spectator.  Information on how to buy wristbands can be found by clicking here.  Coaches who enter as an adult spectator do not need to check-in with the tournament or at “college coach check-in”.
  2. Registration and payment through University Athlete (see below for details, May event only).

For the January event, all college coaches will need to purchase an admissions ticket just like all other spectators.  Follow the link above.

University Athlete

The Mizuno Northern Lights Qualifier has partnered with University Athlete ( to provide you with the latest and best program for recruiting.

This year, University Athlete will be handling all registrations and payments for the recruiting software.  Please visit their website or phone app to sign up for the service.

January Event

For the January Event in Omaha, University Athlete will once again offer their recruiting software.  College coaches should contact University Athlete to purchase the recruiting software.  However, for this event, the recruiting package does not include admission to the tournament.  The price has been adjusted accordingly.

May Event

Once you have registered for the tournament on the University Athlete website or app, a QR code will become available on the website or phone app.  Show this QR code to our Will Call staff for a free admission wristband (look for the “College Coach Check-In” sign).

Baller TV

Mizuno Northern Lights is partnering with Baller TV in 2021!  If a college coach cannot make the Northern Lights Qualifier, they can still watch every single court via live stream.  A link to the service can be found on the Northern Lights Qualifier home page.
