Coaching Bio:

  • My first JO coaching experience came with Club Extreme (Prior Lake) back in 2004 and 2005.
  •
  • Moved over to Lights in 2006 as the 12-1s assistant with Sheila Bodway. That was an excellent team, and I learned a ton from Sheila and Chad (you can still find Sheila as a parent of Haley on the 15-1s)!
  •
  • Head coach for the 13-3s in 2007. We had a good year, although I concluded I will never coach again without an assistant - they are essential to running things smoothly, both at practices and game days!
  •
  • After taking 2008 off, I am back again with the 12-2s, and enjoying every minute. Helping these kids develop both individually and as a team is very rewarding.
  •
    Playing Bio:

  • Numerous intramural and recreational leagues both during and after college.
  •
  • Some hip problems as a child eventually led to a hip replacement a number of years ago. So I don't play any more, but I still love the sport. I guess that is why I am coaching!
  •
    Education:

  • B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota
  •
  • Impact and CAP Level I Certified
  •
  • Numerous volleyball clinics
  •
    Personal Bio:

  • My wife, Lynne, and Curt own and operate Midwest Volleyball. I just tag along and do a lot of the computer work.
  •
  • Daughter Jennifer, who you may see with a camera in hand at many of our tournaments. She graduates from Concordia Moorhead this spring, and is getting married, too!
  •
  • Daughter Katrina is in her first year of college at William Woods University in Missouri -- she is engaged as well.
  •
  • And daughter Melissa plays on the 15-3s. She is not engaged...
  •
    Favorite Volleyball Moment:
My daughter Jennifer was a 4-year varsity setter for Prior Lake. Almost every year, Eden Prairie was the team that ended their season in sections. I don't mention this to Chad, but Prior Lake defeating Eden Prairie in sections this year was pretty sweet!
